  4. The daughter of the Titan URANUS, Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love
  5. (she was known as Venus to the Romans). Although married to HEPHAESTUS, 
  6. the lame god of fire and metalwork, she had many love affairs, notably
  7. with the god of war, Ares. Her other loves included the beautiful boy 
  8. Adonis, and the humble herdsman Anchises, father of the Roman hero 
  9. Aeneas.
